Make sure you look for any delineating term ie. specific software, specific competitors, all others. A lot of companies will scare you with the non-compete clause but just make sure they put into very plain terms what you will be doing and what they are offering. Companies can be very vague with their terms and want to cover all. Unless they state their product or others that offer their unique services you are good to go. If there is no competition then go for it. Please understand most non-compete clauses are so open that any regulation is not substantial. Best just to use common sense and if 2 jobs sound similar then do some research and ask.
