I find (regarding network marketing, my own model of business) that there's very, very much more
misinformation than information around (much of it from people with financial and/or emotional incentives to propagate it); so we tend to trust only our own experiences and findings. It's no surprise at all, when you look at the very low success-rate of home-based businesses, that anything approaching a "general consensus view" is actually pretty likely to be ill-advised, unfortunately.
