Hi Karen,
Bless your heart!! Most any business statistics you’ll look at will tell you that atleast 80% of business fail within their first 5 years. Any business – Any industry... even those where MILLIONS of dollars are put on the line to start up the business. The percentages in our industry are probably a bit higher BECAUSE the start-up costs are so low that people tend not to really commit to their business. The right people will see it and work the business. The wrong people won’t. They are adults and make their own decisions. Remember I told you before that because of the heartache I’ve experienced in this business I tend to be more selective? That’s why. Because I can only work with the willing and I’m committed to being there for my business partners. We can’t train you on everything until you’re in the business, so you have to trust that some of the questions you’re having will come clear once you’re a business partner. To start, as I’m sure you’re already doing, file away some of the different emails you’ve gotten from me. You’ll probably want to use some of them as you contact your prospects. The key thing with this business since it’s not a brand new idea or business that you’re starting, is that there are already tracks in place to run in when you get started. In the beginning, you’re going to attract people with your ability to “fake it until you make it” while you create your success story; speak with confidence and excitement even though you may be nervous and USE your uplines and corporate to help you tell the story. Duplicate and be duplicatable.
Okay, I’m starting to ramble. It’s been a long day and my bed is calling. :-) Bottomline, this is a business and you need to treat it like a business to succeed. There are many, many, people making money with their AmeriPlan business are you going to be one? Your choice. Like Linda talked about, having a big “WHY” will buoy you through the hard times. When you finally reach that goal, you’ll wonder why did you worry and you’ll be humbled by the number of people who helped you make it happen.
Hugs and blessings to you, Karen. We’re all here rooting for you.
Cynthia
