Who are you?
My name is Delia, a South African currently residing in the Czech Republic. I have been a registered member on WAHM.com for a few days now and can't believe all the reading there is to be done here with way too much information o process at a time

A little bit about me

so to give you a better understanding about what my situation is...

I have lived here for 6 years, have two boys 6 and 4. I spent three of the six years here working as sort of an event organizer for the Regional Authority office in the language education sector. The problem with living here is that there are very little job opportunities for non-native Czechs because of the language barrier. With this being said, I was very lucky to walk into a job where my lack of tertiary education was of very little importance, but like all good things, this is slowly coming to an end. My boss, who is a politician, will be reaching the end of his term soon and seems to be the only one right now interested in pushing this forward, which leaves me stranded.

What is the name of your business?

I have very recently tried to start up 2 businesses.
1) Eventis
2) South African Tours

unfortunately, the websites are not complete yet.. in the process of doing so..

a little bit about the businesses

I think number 2 is self explanatory. I work directly with South African travel and touring agents to get the best rates. Offer free consulting as to what the best routes, places etc. for groups no larger than 10 people.. I work with the clients to plan their holiday according to their time, needs and budget.

although when i do have a group, it's great but it is really slow business and not been profitable thus far, need to market it better.

number 1 is still really fresh, so no income as yet.

my reason for joining this website.
I need to find something that will bring in some sort of income once my contractual employment comes to an end, which should be at the end of the year.

I do not have a university degree, but i have done lots of proof reading (of translations from Czech to English) for the government office in the region and the local university, proof reading of student thesis in English, writing of letters, doing English CV's and the list is endless in the events i have put together, over the last 5 years

I do hope to learn a little more about how I can incorporate this so that i can find a Work At Home job.. as I have said, i just started researching and I have no idea where to start or how to go about it..

so I am here to learn

I am really sorry about the long post.. I guess I had more to say than I thought
