Barbara's entire post is excellent, and I think the paragraph I've quoted above is particularly apropos. Transcription, to be done well, requires a rather large time commitment. It is not something that can be done successfully when you have a few spare minutes here and there. It can take up to an hour, possibly longer, to transcribe 15 minutes of audio. Call Graph will pay you $2.50 for that hour of work. If you have two hours per day to devote to transcription, you will earn $5.00 per day from Call Graph. There are, without a doubt, many other WAH jobs that will pay more than $5.00 for a two-hour time commitment.
If you are serious about transcription as a
career, there are established transcription companies that will hire with no experience and will pay significantly more than $10.00 per audio hour.
Doing transcription for Call Graph benefits no one but Call Graph.
