I'm getting fed up and very frustrated, for the past 2 days I've been trying to get SOMEONE at LiveOps to test my computer. Each time I try to call-- I either get put on eternal hold (where I listen to beep-beep) or I get into someone's voice mail and it's usually full. Although I did just get though to Juanita's, and left her a message as well as sent her an e-mail.
This morning was it was impossible to get on as I have a previous engagement on Tue, Thru and Sat mornings/early afternoons.
I was told by others to call in the morning and Juanita said to call when I got in this afternoon-- which I did to no avail!
I may try again tomorrow morning, but am getting discouraged.
Not to mention, I've been reading others posts regarding call volume- and it's a mixed basket! I realize newbies have to build up their rating and are a low priority, but to not get any calls even when committing?!? That seems crazy!
Any advice?
Thanks Katey

I really don't know what to tell you Katey, we all had the same problem and quite frankly still do when problems come up that need to have office involvement. I think they need more help in the office! Anyway, if you persue the job and get it at least you will have forwarning about what to expect as far as call volume. My suggestion, get a hobby you can easily do while waiting on calls, this helps to pass the time. I talk to several other vsr's and most of them have the same complaints about call volume in private messages sent between us, despite the fact that I see some in here giving encouragement...they indeed have had the same concerns as well.

Yes, it is crazy to sit there all day and night and not receive any calls. I am not bad mouthing liveops, please read my other posts. But it is very hard to prove yourself when they don't give you the opportunity to do so. Although I like the company and what they are doing....I don't know if this is for me. Hopefully you'll have better luck

I have heard of them. They do not over hire, that I know. Maybe they would have better call volume. I would quite frankly take less per talk minute if they would just send the calls. I know that workathomeagents makes 17 cents per talk minute, that would add up to a good wage if the calls are consistantly coming in. I know with Liveops overall I average about $2 per hour and I work all the weekends hotspots and nights and some hot spots during the day. I have many friends at liveops that say the same thing. I have not tried workathomeagents, because I went with Liveops. I am still going to give this a try with Liveops because I really hate giving up. I really love the concept of this and I am still very hopeful that it will work out in the end. Call me crazy but I am still going to dedicate myself to this for the time being. I am hopeful that liveops will come through in the end for me and for all those out there like me who are desperately waiting for calls. I would think that at sometime Liveops would revise how they do their call volume and maybe disperse it a little more evenly.

Katey G-, thank you for the info! I went to their site, took the suitability test and passed! So whats next? How long did it take you to get a response after you registered? Do you have a contact number? I would like to start doing something right away. Thanks

I finally talked to Karen & she was able to test my computer, seemd to work OK, excpet for when I went to log out of LiveOps, it just sort of hung there. Has this happened to anyone else? I had to reboot my computer.
I told her maybe I had too many other Windows open? Has anyone else experienced this?!? I'm supposed to do a training tonight at 7 PM, but haven't had a manual test yet?
Maybe I should call her back! As I believe I'm supposed to have passed this test before the 3 hour training.
WEll, called her right back and got a full voice mail box. Tried calling Juanita and got her VM and left msg and also sent e-mail.
I feel like I'm getting lost in the shuffle! Maybe I should just not go to training? Help please advise!

Katey G-, I think you should still go to training and try liveops out. If not, you may always have a lingering question if it would have worked for you or not. Then you can decide if its for you or not, give it a week or so and then make your decision. The day I got signed up with liveops I went to all the message boards I could to see what people were saying about them and even though they all say the same thing about the call volume I wanted to give it a shot anyway. But now that i know, i don't think its for me, I need something where I can work for at least 20min-30min out of an hour. My loss of sleep isn't worth $2 an hour. But give it a shot, you might get lucky and put in a different priority slot.

Hi!
I passed their sutibility test on Monday and got my interview letter with time yesterday (Wed). I have my interview with them next Wed at 10 AM (EST converted from Central time which they tell you they post their times in).
No I do not have a contact number, but I do know that they are hireing and so far from what I understand people are happy with them.
I just did the computer test with Karen (took only a few minutes) and she scheduled me for a training session, however, I haven't taken the manual test yet?!? I called her right back and didn't get her, but rather her full mailbox. I tried again to speak to Juanita but got her VM as well and sent her an e-mail, as I believe things are out of sync here.
Just checked e-mail and got one from Juanita, she said this was the last step before taking calls-- what no test?!?
I'm totally confused!

My problem is getting the training e-mail from Juanita. She says that it's 10mb. Has anyone else had a problem? Or, can you recommend a cheap/preferably free, e-mail program I can sign up for that has a lot of space?

Do you mean the one where you get the training manual? Let me see if I can see how long this is, I know the manual is 78 pages long, but didn't realize it was 10 MB!
I just looked at mine, and the only attachment I had was for the Manual and that was 2.89 MB. Don't know what sort of e-mail probram you are using now, but my ISP had no problem handeling this, I'm with EarthLink (MindSpring is now owned by them).

My letter came to my e-mail box with my interview appoitment.
I've been hired by them and am waiting to be trained, hopefully tomorrow. The person who's supposed to train me had her wisdom teeth pulled yesterday better her than I (I had mine done 13 years ago actually) so I know what kind of pain she's in!
Let me know if that helps.
I'm desperate, too. Access Marketing is during business hours B2B. I plan on making that my primary and LiveOps my secondary. Especially since it looks as if I may have problems with this too, as it "hung" after I tried logging off liveOps. That is "hong" on my end, Karen said the Port was clear on their end.

Ok - just passed my suitability test for workathomeagents.com - so hopefully I will hear from them soon as well...
As for email - I had the same problem getting the manual - so I upgraded my Yahoo account to handle it. Is 29.95 a year and is a tax write off at the end of the year because its a business expense. The problem is that most "free" email sites only allow 1.5 mb emails - and this one is almost twice that size. The expanded yahoo storage allows you to receive up to 10mb per email. It also helps if you want to save a lot of the emails - which I do...
Hope that helps and I will let everyone know how things work out with the application I made today... It's less per minute, but they do not overhire and volume should be better...

Katey G-, I actually just signed up with Access Marketing too. How long do they take to get respond? As you can see I am jumping on everything I can. As I spend some much time surfing the internet while "working" for Liveops. See what your trainer tells you about the call volume when you do your training. She told us it would take one to two weeks for the system to recognize you. Well, that hasn't been the case with me. It would be interesting to know what they tell you.

I figured. But, I do have a comcast account that has 10mb of space. I cleaned it completely out, so I hope she hasn't gotten frustrated and will send it there tomorrow.
Thanks for all your advice ladies.

Krista - It's not the storage that you have in your email, it's the size of the individual emails they allow you to receive. And Yes, Yahoo will hold the email - if you have the extra storage like I do. Trust me - I got mine in Yahoo...

I have a friend just recently hired with Yahoo (uses the basic yahoo)...she set this account up specifically for LO so she didnt have any other emails in there and it wouldnt go through.
When Juanita says it wont work, that poor lady probably knows, imagine how many times she has to go through that, lol...as I say ..persistance pays off

Dori - that is because the regular Yahoo only allows 1.5 meg emails. That is why I upgraded to the Yahoo extra storage. Is the only way I could find to get the email they were trying to send me...

yeah, I cleaned out my comcast account and connected it to outlook express. Lo and behold, I just received my manual from Juanita.
I value and appreciate everyone's advice.
Also, I have a couple other data entry/coding jobs, so I will dedicate evenings and weekends to liveops.

Hi Watching Paint Dry!
Well, lets see, I initially went to their website on March 18, 2003 and read everything & filled out the application. I also signed up for their newsletter which gave me an automated e-mail from Andy Brownell, the President which gave me his direct e-mail & phone number.
I waited a week and sent a followup e-mail to someone named Russ and then Andy as well as called Andy & left a message for him (I got Russ' e-mail from the webpage under news I believe). Andy responded with an e-mail on 24 March 2003- basically saying they would be reviewing my qualifications and if I met their needs Jennifer would be calling.
He also went over the pay schedule and told me to review their system on line. I didn't hear from Jennifer until this past Monday 7 April 2003.
Hope this helps! Now I'm paitently waiting for Jennifer to call & train me-- she had her wisdom teeth pulled on Wed, and had warrned me that she may not get back to me until Friday. Oh I forgot, I did fax in my Contractor Agreement on Tuesday.
