I personally would never pay to join a site that says they will connect you with surveys. Most of them are scams. There are a few legit ones from what I hear, but there is really no reason to pay. You can sign up with survey sites for free. The ones that are free to join are legitimate. I have been paid by several of them. It would be very hard to make a steady amount of money because some times you get a lot of surveys, and sometimes you don't get many at all. Some of them will only pay you a few dollars and some surveys pay a really good amount. You can definitely make some spare money though. 3 weeks ago, in a 2 day period I made 50 dollars. I haven't made anything in the past two weeks though (no survey opportunities). Just don't ever pay money to join a site.

if you go to www.volition.com you can find free information about online surveys. You do not have to pay to sign up. They tell you which ones pay your for taking surveys and which run raffles or give you free gifts for taking them. I just started, with this, but so far seems to be going well. I built up some points already.

Hi Readalot, I have a database of about 200 survey companies that will give you incentives to complete surveys, cash, points, raffles, free products, etc. I complet probably 5 to 10 a day, and while it won't make you rich, every penny counts right? If you're interested send me an e-mail and I'd be happy to e-mail you the list. Don't pay for what you can get for free! http://Bltshw.internetmoms.net/

It looks like you have to pay for http://www.survey-platinum.com/ I know that I've read a lot about not paying for survey sites and such.

Do not join any site that reqires you to pay money to have access to a database. To name a few examples: Survey Platinum, Survey Scout.
For more info on Survey LPatinum, find resources about what to do if you have been ripped off. This should not happen, these survey companies are a rip off.

I've been considering paid surveys, but am unwilling to pay for any survey sites. I am curious as to whether or not these online surveys are profitable. In other words, can you make money with them, and if so, how much could a person realistically expect to earn?
I have looked through a few of the websites listed here, but would love to hear stories, tips and advice from someone more experienced.

I have been doing surveys for quite a few years too. It doesn't make you rich by any means. But the extra money has always came in handy. I've made as little as $2.00 for a short survey and as much as $50.00 for the ones that are more in-depth. I also hate to think that anyone would get stuck paying for information that is available for free. I also have put together a web page that lists survey companies for free. The first 60 on my list are companies that pay you a fee and the balance on the list offer a combination of points (some can be converted for cash),gift certificates, drawings and other prizes.

I have registered with about 30 of the survey sites and so far all I getting is a lot of e-mails for different offers that I checked no when I filled out the form. Yes I receive surveys also but none of them have offered any pay all I get is you will be entered in a $1000.00 drawing or some with points. I think it is a joke.
