Do you work set hours, or do you fit in your work as you can?

I work set hours, for the most part. I work from 7-8 a.m., then I work from 6-8 p.m. on most week days. On Saturdays, I work 8-11 a.m., and on Sunday afternoon I work from 4-6. That can be altered for illness, family plans, holidays, etc.
When the children get sick, I switch to the "work when I can" mode!

My set office hours are 8-5 Mon-Fri but that is easily interrupted with the kids and doesn't mean I am at my desk. It means I will answer my phone during that time
Then in the evenings after they go to bed I will work some more depending on what needs to be done.
Weekends are up in the air depending on what is going on.

my "office hours" are 9-4, but that does not guarantee that I am at my desk. I also do some work on Sundays or weeknights around the family schedule. Dany

Right now I do the "work when I can" thing. We've gotten into a routen here though where after the kids are changed and fed (and happy!) I sit down to sift through some emails. That normally happens around 8am or so. I usually answer a few emails for about an hour or two, then get the baby fed again and down for her morning nap. After that's done, I get about another 30mins to finish up what I'm doing and start getting ready to go work at my mom's restaurant.
Afternoons are always hextic around her for some reason, and I never get much done. So sometimes I just shut off the computer completely and do housework. After the kids are in bed though is when I really get my work done. I get at least 4 hrs of uninterupted work time. Sometimes I get so caught up in what I'm doing that I work until the wee hours in the morning. I just love the house being so quiet though!

Schedule!? What's that? I have a full time job outside the home now, so my "real" job work schedule dictates when and how often I can work on my home businesses.
I feel like I never STOP working though. If I get off at 9:30 PM from my job I come home and work online until about midnight.
I hope someday soon to be able to STAY at home and make enough income that working a crappy retail job won't be a problem .

Schedule? What's a schedule???

My first day care child arrives at 6:30 M-F of each morning. The last child leaves at 5:30. I try to write descriptions and take pics for Ebay auctions during naps. I also work on craft projects for my business while the children are busy at free play. On Saturdays I hunt down merchandise for my Ebay business and work a few hours at my quilt business which is located across town from my home. In the evenings I try to clean house and keep up with book and paper work.

I am trying hard to get on a regular schedule. I work outside the home 2 days a week so on those days I usually work my home business from about 9-11 p.m. On days that I am home I work my home business from about 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 or so then again from about 2:00 to 4:00 then again a little in the evening. The great thing is I can work my home business wherever... I was at the playground today and talking up my business to someone new that I met... I talk about it everywhere! I go on weekend walks with my son and leave flyers, etc. Most of the parties I have booked are on weekends and I want to work to get more booked during the week...

Right now, I get all of my work done between 1-3 p.m. while my son naps. That will be changing soon when Baby #2 comes in June! For a while, it will be work whenever I can. Then I hope to get on a good new schedule. Not sure what that will be yet! :)

I find that if everything isn't perfectly scheduled, my day is wasted. Here is my schedule, down to the hour:
Daily Activity Monday Library/Errands Tuesday Bank/Errands Wednesday Out to Lunch/Errands Thursday Out to Park/Errands Friday Grocery Shopping/Errands Saturday Other Shopping/Errands Sunday Church
* On days with bad weather, do creative projects with kids instead of daily activity *
I know my schedule seems a little strict, but the kids do so well in a structured environment, and so do I. I'm able to get more done around the house, complete my work, and spend quality time with my kids.

I work outside my home in the mornings until 12:30....mainly because I work for a really he gives me full benefits even though I'm part time.
I have two teenage boys and a 2 year old.
So, my office hours are when my daughter (the 2 year old) naps in the afternoon and then again after she goes to bed at night.
