Well... My husband is a programmer, so he is constantly thinkging of online business opportunties. We were just talking abou how many business' we currently have running. They include:
www.knapprental.com where we rent out heavy equipment
www.thegrahamcompany.org home inspections
www.tinyenterprises.com linking enterprising youth to odd jobs

But the only one making money is my Beauty Consulting! www.mykiotis.com

So, the moral is, keep trying and keep thinking.

Too many! I have 4 work-at-home websites that I run. One is for a single home business that I run. The other 3 offer work-at-home information, a bunch of affiliates which I guess could be businesses but that would be too many to count, as well as get ad revenue. Oh... and I do some contract social work for an adoption agency.

I find that I have too many pokers in the fire and am actively trying to build income in 1 or 2 areas so I can sell or otherwise get rid of the others.

Interestly, I'm always thinking of new projects and entertaining new ideas which goes against my income simplification plan.

I am so glad to see all of you discussing this.
I am what my husband calls crazy!
I have three children a 4 yr old, a 3 year old and a 18 month old.
I work part time for two Dominos Pizza Franhises and a property management compnay doing the books. (Steady paycheck to fall back on)
I own two websites that I run myself (which you maybe able to tell by visiting them, that I am not a pro at web design) Personalized Candy Wrappers and Novelty Chocoaltes at www.CarolynsCherubsNChocolates.com and Wedding Supplies, Discount Dresses, Party Supplies, Celebrity Replica Jewelry etc,,,, at www.EverythingButAGroom.com "You find him, we will find the rest!"
I also am an Independent Travel Agent for Global Travel at www.WindleyTravel.globaltravel.com
and (yes and)
I am a Mortgage Loan Officer for A mortgage company in Wyoming.

I barely have timne to sleep anymore but I am determined to make my wedding website into a traditional bridal store in a few years and I need the experience and income flow to make it happen so I decided to jump in with both feet and use all my talents to the max.

My children come first and I work only at night when my husband can keep the babies for me. I leave the house twice a week to perform my bookkeeping duties.
I will not lie it seems like days I am running in circles but I am able to care for my children and love my husband on my schedule this way. Working for someone else is for the birds!
Work hard and use every opportunity to tell everyone what you do. I got sick of hearing "I wish I had known about you last month when my daughter got married" or "when we bought our house" You can't ake money unless you tell people you are here to serve them.
Advertisining in my hometown is a joke. Display ads run in the hundreds and classified ads do next to nothing for responses.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated in the area of advertising as well.

If anyone knows of any Angels or venture capitalists out here looking for a unique company to help startup let me know!

What a fun topic! I love hearing about everyones businesses!

I only own one business, I'm an Independent Consultant for Arbonne. I have only been doing this since October, and I love it. It's really a lot of fun, and I enjoy getting to meet new people. In the past I have done Avon and BeautiControl, both were nice, but I like the support and the commission structure of Arbonne better.

Along with my Arbonne business, I am the mother of a 2 1/2 yr old girl named Piper, a wife, full time employee for an environmental company, and a full time student! I'm so busy that I don't have time for more than one business...and I'm hoping that this business will free me up to be a true WAHM!!

I have 2 businesses, but focus mainly on one.

Picadil.com is my baby that I started from scratch. This is where the majority of my time and effort is spent.

I am now a rep with The Story Teller also. I joined because I love the products and I think that they complement Picadil.

I have one business, but various suppliers that I work with for that business. I don't think of it as more than one.

Amongst the desserts I sell, I also am a consultant with a gourmet cookware line and a home decor line. I do the desserts mostly, but enjoy the discount on the other two - since I use cookware for business and love to decorate my home as a hobby. The smaller 2 are just a hobby for me, to help generate extra income. Desserts are the best sellers for me though. So much so that I closed down a previous business to focus on the highest sellers.

I have 2 businesses and a full time job. I've put one of the businesses on hold while I work the second business and maintain my day job. Its a challenge to have more than one focus.

For years I was scattered into many different networking businesses, trying to find the one that would take off and duplicate quickly. I love the health and wellness products many of them supply, so I wanted to be in just for those, too. However, now I am focused to be a leader in my organization. When I have more than one network business that I am doing big, I want to go to too many conventions and lead too many groups, and it is too much to keep up with. I will have to be content with simply being a customer of most of these companies. I have found the one that will pay me enough to afford the products I want from all the others. My current joy is to help others find that one network company that is right for them to focus on, which can help them achieve what they really want out of life. Life is more than business. Network marketing can consume your life, or it can free you up to live the life you always dreamed about.
